Carer of the month – Anne

Anne joined us back in January 2019, and has provided 34+ weeks of care ever since. She was Alan’s primary carer from March ‘21 to his passing, and was nominated for August’s Carer of the Month by Peter, Alan’s son, for truly going the extra mile in incredibly difficult circumstances.

‘Anne cared supremely well for my father Alan for several months. When he was recently taken ill, Anne responded way above any realistic expectation, arriving at short notice to replace our other wonderful carer.’

‘Dad was taken to hospital but, a fortnight later, was discharged even though he was not fit to be. Anne returned immediately to support Dad and the family; we would not have managed the next 24 hours without her. Dad returned to hospital after that most challenging 24 hours and sadly, he passed away peacefully a few days later.’

‘The family cannot praise Anne enough – a wonderful carer much loved by our father, and who went several extra miles during his and the family’s hours of greatest need.’

– Peter

From all of us at Elder HQ, well done Anne.
