Nokuthula
Nokuthula, (who also goes by Nokky) was nominated for this month’s award because of her outstanding communication and commitment, which made an unexpected situation a lot easier for the family she was helping.
Nokuthula has provided 18 weeks of care through the Elder platform, since joining in 2023.
She’s worked in care since 1999, and as such has built up considerable experience in a wide range of settings all over the UK, including residential care homes, mental health wards, and her clients’ own homes.
Nokuthula loves travelling and seeing new places. She also loves getting out for a walk and tries to hit 10,000 steps most days, and is a great cook who enjoys trying new dishes.
“She is extremely alert to my mother’s needs.”
If you had to describe Nokuthula in just three words, what would they be?
Outstanding, professional, kind.
“Nokky communicates readily with my sister and I and her care has enabled my mum to stay in her home of over 60 years, rather than go into a care home. “
“She’s an outstanding carer. She is extremely alert to my mother’s needs and her concern about my mother’s health meant that she brought the doctors attention to her bowel problems.
She has also stayed on to care for my mother when another carer didn’t turn up and that was despite going on holiday to Europe the following day. This meant she did not get home until gone 1am in the early hours on the day she was flying. Nothing is too much trouble.”
