“BB has been caring for my Dad for nearly two years now. The bond he has formed with him in that time has been remarkable. He understands my Dad’s needs and anticipates things in advance – like having a good medication supply or calling out the GP if he is concerned about his health. He has developed a relationship where he can reassure and calm my Dad when he is confused or anxious, and his dementia leaves him unsure about what is going on.

They rub along so well together, it’s a pleasure to see! All the friends and relatives who have seen BB interacting with Dad comment on how good the relationship is and how lucky we are to have the continuity of care BB provides. BB also communicates regularly – with good news as well as any issues and sends regular photographs to keep me fully in the picture and to share something of Dad’s day (such as when they go out with the wheelchair if the sun is shining and see the park or the house my Dad lived in when he was first married 70 years ago!).

BB has built up a level of trust, which means I’m now able to relax far more knowing Dad is in great hands. I think BB definitely deserves to be acknowledged for the care and commitment he shows in his role. I would give him a gold medal if I could!”
