March 2021 – Carer of the month

Lourine

Lourine joined Elder back in May 2020 and has provided 15+ weeks of exceptional person-centred care.

“Lourine arrived to care for my mother shortly after her youngest son died. She moved in to expertly provide all her care needs in a very  professional manner which also made things easier for the family too.”

“Where Lourine went above and beyond was how much compassion and kindness she showed my mother, sitting with her to comfort her, tempting her to eat etc.

Then my father (who was in hospital) died three weeks later. Again, Lourine was an enormous support, comforting my mother and making sure she had everything she needed (particularly as I was self-isolating and couldn’t be there), all done with such grace and kindness.

Lourine delayed her return home so she could stay and support my mother emotionally through the funeral and the days afterwards. Lourine has also coped with a bathroom refit, washing machine breakdown and numerous other issues with ease.

She has helped all of my family through a dreadful time and we are very grateful to her.”
