Your loved one may be eligible for financial help from their local council towards care costs. Start by requesting a care needs assessment and a financial assessment to check eligibility. If they're eligible, the council will provide a personal budget, which you can manage directly as a direct payment, giving you full control over who provides care.
NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC)
If your loved one has an ongoing health condition, they may be eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare. This funding covers the full cost of care, but it's reserved for complex conditions that may fall outside what a self-employed carer can safely provide.
